Pierre Cardin travelled the world, and saw fashion architecturally, culturally, and artistically. Cardin design style is often described as "avant-garde" and "Art Deco," his aesthetic is one of clean lines, bright colours and strong, geometric shapes. He often worked with unusual material such as vinyl fabrics and notions like carpenter nails and sometimes ignored the body when designing for it, which was an unusual trait for a fashion designer of that time.

  



Cardin extended beyond fashion and design he establish himself creating a personal brand for himself. Cardin's name can be found on crockery, haute couture, accessories, furniture and a full line of fragrance.
