Paper Modelling

Week 2 - In class

This is the progression of 3D to 2D construction, using paper modelling methods

I begin with wrapping and sticking paper around a mannequin, darting lower and upper bust, waist and back.  Using sellotape go around the entire mannequin until it forms the shape of the mannequin.

Now draw shapes on the stand, labelling and adding notches. Cut out each shape making sure they lay flat on to pattern paper ready to draw around.

Once all pieces are drawn with all letters and notches. Using a pattern master draw the seam allowance and cut. Now we have all 2D patterns ready to use on fabric.
